However Endless legend beats endless space 2 in allowing you to persuade the A.I factions to attack each other through diplomacy, but falls short in having the A.I think rationally in its peaceful diplomatic options with the player. I’m talking too muchīoth games are essentially the same when it comes to victory conditions, assymetric faction playstyles, how you research technologies, explore the map, do quests/events, alliance victorirs, and more. As the focus of your empire’s legislation options will be entirely dependent on how the population votes every election. Diplomacy in endless legend, unlike Space 2, also gives you the option to ask someone else to go to war with another player you may or may not be at war with-so you can sometimes orchestrate scenarios between players if you want to keep a powerful player from growing too powerfull, but your empire is too weak to do so.Įndless space to, unlike endless legend, puts effort into making every single choice And action you follow through within the game affect your empire’s internal politics-placing great importance on knowing your population. Setting aside the innate differences provided from their settings: Endless Legend provides you with total control over army combat, and caters to a more simplistic style of city management compared to Endless space 2. However, FOR ME Endless Space 2 takes the cake for how unique, stylish, and fun in a relaxing but engaging way it is.īoth endless legend and endless space 2 provide the player with a variety of means on how to win, and what victory to achieve. (Also, Vaulters is the best DLC imo content wise, but the music packs are extremely worth it in both games, FlyByNo is an amazing composer).īoth are incredible games and have sunk plenty of hours in both. It's a bit daunting since you don't have a traditional tech tree, and there is A LOT of options to micro your empire, but that is the appeal of ES2, having to concede and make decisions that you feel will allow you to develop into an absolute powerhouse, there is no defined path, everything is dynamic, and managing your turns is key to success, even more so than other turn based 4X games. But the core of what ES2 is about is expansion and development. Much like EL the factions have a distinct play style and personality but are a bit more open to other victory conditions. It's both extremely slick and full of personality. Haven't played with any DLCs myself though.Įndless Space 2 is quite unique in contrast. So gameplay wise is more generic, but is extremely fun and should make you familiar with some of the mechanics present in other Amplitude 4X games (like the FIDSI system, the quest lines, etc). Also, I'd say the diplomacy is overall better in EL, since in ES2 (in single player) the AI diplomacy is a bit. It's a great starting point lore wise too, and is the game that has the most "fantasy" feeling of the Endless universe. It's has the classic hexagon turn base style as the Civ series, but each faction has a REALLY distinct gameplay style that will define your run (which is the appeal of it). Getting great responses already!įor you I'd recommend Endless Legend first. I'll probably buy the second one once I've got the time for it.Įdit #2: What a superb community. Between both, which has the most diversity in ways you can play, succeed, and win? Which one has better feeling diplomacy with more intricacy between factions/races? Which one has more content in the long run, and, finally, which one is the best for a single-player journey? No offence on Multiplayer, I just like most Sim/Strategy/4X games to myself.Įdit: Forgot to mention, I'm buying only one of these including all their DLCs. The real factors for me are customisation, variety, and diplomacy. I've heard that the combat is more entertaining too. I'm honestly loving the style and aesthetic of ES2, as well as the core gameplay, but it does seem a little intense, with a lot of info being thrown at you from the jump.ĮL seems more dated, with years between both games, though I prefer Fantasy to Space. I haven't played many 4X games, though in the past I used to play Civ when I was around 8-9. Title says it all, and I was hoping to find a bullet list of good/bad comparisons between them both, but found nothing concrete.
